Bechtle UK instructed Smethurst Property Consultants on finding office space close to its existing offices in Chippenham. The client was seeking more appropriate space whilst still retaining the excellent communication links that the area offered.

The driving forces behind Bechles relocation were twofold:
To cater for future UK expansion and derive improved occupational efficiency
To occupy ‘greener’, more sustainable office space to minimise environmental impact and provide significant energy efficiency and utility savings
Smethurst Property Consultants conducted an exhaustive search of available offices in Chippenham and the surrounding areas that could offer the square footage required. Out of a list of potential new office premises, Smethurst Property Consultants shortlisted The Village Green as the one which best achieved the priorities of space efficiency, green credentials, and energy efficiency.
Previously home to furniture designer, Herman Miller, eco-friendly Village Green is 2.5 times larger than Bechtle’s previous office building on Bumpers Farm and boasts an expansive ‘Living Space’ with plenty of potential and room for the business to grow, which will in turn create new employment opportunities in the local area.
There has also been a strong focus on sustainability and the environment with the installation of 4 electric car charging pods and new planting in and around the offices.
Smethurst Property Consultants negotiated on behalf of Bechtle UK to secure The Village Green, a letting of 21,000 sq ft
